Summer is a great time for those service projects to be completed. Every unit should be reporting the hours served on the “Good Turn for America” link found on our district web site, www.whiteeaglebsa.org or the council website, blackhawkscouting.org.

Day Camps for Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts in Morrison during the week of July 15th and at Camp Lowden during the week of August 12th. Contact Ted Lamb or Kate Lehrke to sign up.

Boy Scouts remember to plan events throughout the summer for all levels of scouts in your units. Be sure to contact the local Cub Scout Packs and Webelos Scout Leaders to start planning the Webelos to Scout Transition into your troops.

August Roundtable will be on AUGUST 7TH, one week earlier than usual due to day camps, school registrations, etc. There will be splits for the Cub Scout level, focusing on S’more Summer Fun, membership and recruiting information distributed. St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dixon, starts at 7:00 p.m. New Leaders Essentials will be offered, starts at 6:30 p.m.

Join Scout Night on August 28th. Even if school has not started, plan some kind of event around this date to promote scouting in your community at ALL LEVELS. Could be a game night at the school, open gym, open basement or fellowship hall at your church. Maybe have video games to entice those older scouts? Special speaker, have food! Let Lee know of your plans and if you need flyers made up for promotion. There will be another roundup in September, but the more we advertise, the better results we will have.

August 30th – Sporting Clays at Colona – Contact Lee Kraut or Jim Pepper for this great event for our district. This is a shooting event for adults only.

There is NOT roundtable in July. August Roundtable is THE FIRST THURSDAY, August 7th of the month!!! Only this month is there a change in the week due to school registrations. Please mark your calendars, inform your leaders.
