How the Community Can Get Involved

If you would like to get involved to help support these packs and troops, there are a number of ways you could help out:
  • Our biggest effort comes through parents and other community members who donate their time at schools or community centers. This helps to strengthen the leadership and build upon the core fundamentals with the Scouts in the program. The biggest factor of this, especially when parents get involved, shows the youth in our city that we care.

  • Another way one could help is by donating of a variety of things of which we are in need. We’re trying to build a strong foundation for the youths and begin having annual campouts for the Webelos and Boy Scout age youth (4th grade and up). However, costs for things (primarily tents, cooking utensils, and various other critical camping supplies) prevent us from being able to do so at this time. Any camping equipment in good condition or better is greatly appreciated.

  • Lastly, monetary donations are another way of helping as this greatly reduces the cost of supplies, tuition, uniforms and more. Our success in our programs over the years has been solidified and achieved because of the involvement of citizens like you, who have taken a stand to ensure our youth receive a strong core of fundamentals to help build their character as they grow. To make a donation, please contact our Scout office.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the Scoutreach District, please contact Bill Allen or Everette Sherrod or call 815-397-0210 ext. 106. If we all pitch in, we can ensure our youth will have something to look forward to and contribute later in life.
