Blackhawk Area Council is thrilled to offer unit leaders a simpler – more innovative and turnkey – way to collect payments and information from your unit. Even better? It’s available at ZERO COST to your unit. 

Blackhawk Area Council has partnered with an online platform called Cheddar Up (www.cheddarup.com/boyscoutsExternal Link) - available via website and iOS and Android mobile apps.

Cheddar Up is the leading payments platform for group collecting with hundreds of thousands of users across North America. In the case of Boy Scouts, it’s the ideal platform to collect payments (and information) for things such as outings, events, dues, gear, and even in-person sales.

FREE for Your Unit
Perhaps the best part of this partnership? Blackhawk Area Council making this platform available to unit leaders at no cost.

Blackhawk Area Council is waiving the monthly fees associated with the platform’s advanced features so the entire platform is available to unit leaders for FREE.  There is a low transactional fee that is passed to the payer by default. But parents have an online way to pay that is a low, flat $0.45 (less than the price of a stamp). This means that if your unit collects $500, its KEEPS $500. And if you wish to allow parents to continue to have the option to pay with cash/check, you can use the platform to track those payments for free.

 

Getting Started
Blackhawk Area Council unit leaders will receive a “Welcome email” from Cheddar Up and Blackhawk Area Council in early August. This Welcome email will contain a special link that will prompt you to complete the set up of your Cheddar Up account, and will unlock all platform features for you for free.
