The Severson Dells Nature Center is hosting Merit Badge Opportunities

Severson Dells is hosting several upcoming nature Merit Badge opportunities for Troops. The registration and more details are available on their website below. Here is the schedule of available programs:

Jan. 5, 2019 - Bird Study

Birds are everywhere, and bird-watching is one of the most popular activities in America!  We help scouts learn the basics of bird ID:  how to use binoculars, what traits to look for when starting bird ID, and how to attract birds to your feeders so you can bird-watch at your leisure. Link

January 12th - Conservation Crew Restoration Day

You are invited to participate in the restoration of our natural areas by joining our volunteer Conservation Crew! Invasive plant species pose grave threats to our natural areas—vegetation management is at the heart of our conservation efforts. Working alongside fellow volunteers in the beauty of the outdoors is both gratifying and invigorating. No experience necessary; training and tools are supplied. Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated. Dress in layers and expect to get dirty! Link

January 26th - Winter Hike

Take a break from the winter blahs and join us for a guided walk along the trails as we search for signs of wildlife - hopefully in the snow! We'll enjoy a cup of cocoa when we return to the building. Dress for the weather.  Family friendly. Must be able to walk a mile+ over moderate winter terrain.   FREE. RSVP below or by calling 815-335-2915. Link

March 2, 2019 - Forestry Link

May 4, 2019 - Field  Botany (Plant Science) Link
