Annual Meeting

Blackhawk Area Council’s Annual Meeting will be scheduled for April 2018. 6:30 PM possible location Pecatonica High School located at 1300 Main St. Pecatonica, IL 61063

The meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m. There will be a light supper beginning at 6:00 and the annual meeting will be followed by the quarterly Council Combined Committees. The annual meeting of the council shall be for the purpose of (a) receiving annual reports of the Executive Board, officers, and various committees, (b) electing members at large, associate and honorary members of the council, National Council members, regular members of the Executive Board, and officers of the Corporation other than the Scout executive, c) receiving and approving financial statements showing the financial position of the corporation as of the close of its most recent complete fiscal year and the results of operations during such year, and (d) transaction such other business as may come before the meeting.

    The Spring 2018 Rockford IceHogs Scout Night will be held on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. Scouts who attend both games (Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 Scout nights) will receive a free ticket for March 23rd, 2018!!*

    Do you know a fellow scouter or a member of your unit that goes above and beyond in everything they do for scouting? Then nominate them today! The awards nominations deadline is March 15th. Awards will be presented at the 2018 Wanchanagi District Dinner at 4 PM on Sunday, April 22nd.

Windy City Bulls vs. Erie Bayhawks

You are invited to join the Windy City Bulls – the official NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls – for a special Scout Night celebration!
Check out the Pre-Game Scout Party featuring face painters, balloon artists and other activities!
Stick around after the game to watch a movie on the scoreboard with friends and family!
All Scouts in attendance will receive a Windy City Bulls patch!

It’s time to register for Blackhawk Area Council’s Venturing Blast set for Friday-Sunday, Feb. 23-25, at Camp Lowden near Oregon, IL. It is open to ages 14 and older in all Scout units as well as non-Scouts.

Planned events include fat-tire bikes, pistol shooting, climbing, archery, crate stacking, tomahawk and knife throwing, astronomy, snow shoeing and much more! Other activities include evening social/dance, night hike and evening cracker barrel! Activities are subject to change based on weather.

Participants will sleep in heated cabins, so there’s no need to bring a tent! Register early to sleep in Boeger Lodge—space is first come, first served!
